CAN YOU HELP ME MAKE SOMEONE’S DAY or BUY THIS BOOK FOR $8 AND GOOD KARMA

There’s a story from early 2020 where FedEx driver randomly helped a kid on his route send a gift to Tony Hawk. It’s such a cute story. It’s such a feel good story. Link to story in the comments.

That driver wrote a book.

I was so moved by the story, I bought his book and thought I’d see if I could rally some people to do the same. It’s $8 on Amazon and $2 for the kindle version.

#iamgrateful and #iamthankful that the web makes it possible to do good things for random people who do good things for random people.

A CHANCE TO MAKE SOMEONE’S DAY or REWARD GOODNESS WITH GOOD KARMA

Yesterday I shared a story about Tony Hawk :

https://youtu.be/ybhsGCwZpls

What it triggered for me was the story of Mikail Farrar, the FedEx driver who was approached by a kid (Cooper) while on his route, who asked Mikail if he could get the kid’s skateboard, somehow, to Tony Hawk.

Mikail was just a good guy doing a good thing. How do we return the favor and show good karma is a thing?

Well … I looked up Mikail, and found out that among many things, he’s an author.

He wrote a book that’s available for $7 on Amazon called Rangoul. I bought my copy yesterday and got it today. And I thought I’d use this ridiculously small footprint I have here to invite you all to buy his book too.

Why?

Because good things should happen to good people. Buy his book. Write a review. And say thanks to a guy who did something good purely for the sake of doing good.

#iamgrateful and #iamthankful for stories like Mikail’s that just make us feel great.

DREAMS

A friend reached out on messenger yesterday to share some good news: he’s had a dream of teaching a class at his alma mater, and as of today, he confirmed as an adjunct, for a one year class, on corporate real estate asset management. I’m respecting his anonymity. But it made my day because the guy pivoted his career, focused on doing something bigger than himself, set a new goal (professorship) and pursued it vigorously for four years. #iamgrateful and #iamthankful for stories like this. They are motivating and inspiring. Humbling and reorienting. Good things happening to good people? I can never hear enough of those stories. Ever. #iamgrateful and #iamthankful too because the second he said “Corporate Real Estate Asset Management” I asked him if he’d use a Wu Tang song to kick off every class (C.R.E.A.M. amirite?)

HOLLY

What Todd Heap is going through, I can’t fathom. I read his story and got bleary eyed. I simply can’t fathom it. This story, was a nice jolt of feel good good gesturing. The Steelers and the Ravens are, bitter rivals. To hear fans talk about the other team, and the other fans, would make you question and wonder whether NFL Football fandom is healthy. But then you read this article.

And you see how they put aside sporting rivalries when it matters, and how all that competitive spirit is built on a foundation of mutual respect — there’s something nice and redemptive about it. With our increased polarization, and with the echo chambers we can easily find ourselves in, I wonder if we’re getting a little bit worse at respectful rivalries, and respectful discourse. So let’s go ahead and do this for Holly and #HugsforHollyDay.

#iamgrateful and #iamthankful for the simple, pure, classy example set by both Tomlin and Bisciotti. Just good people looking out for good people.
