WHY FIT IN?

When you were born to stand out? All I needed to know I learned in kindergarten. I remember that book. It came out when I was in middle school and we have an awesome substitute teacher who actually motivated me to read more. He had me curious about Satanic Verses when nobody else in the world would talk to me about it. I remember this book and him talking about it…we had to be 25 years apart at the time. To me, as an 11 or 12 year old? It was a joke! But to him, it was eye opening and true. When I watch videos like this, and as I get older, life gets simpler. A little clearer. A lot more … well, many other things. But in things like this it does get simpler.

So let’s do this. #iamgrateful and #iamthankful to Rita G Patel for sharing this and reminding me to keep the fun in my daughter’s homework. She loves it right now. And that’s because the lines don’t matter. I hope she never unlearns that.

TYMMPB… | You Actually Just Made us all Laugh

This video is incredible. Because you were such a chill baby for so long, but as soon as we got to food, your true personality came out. And all that chill you gave us the first 6+ months we know, was to keep us off-guard and let us know, we were in for a surprise.

FWIW, your Naniji and your Dadiji totally called it.

There’s no advice here. You knew what you wanted. Dadiji to feed you. And your Dadaji took it in stride because, frankly, if your sister had her choice of person to feed her we all know she’d choose your Dadaji. (True story.)

This is the kind of video we’re going to love for years; and it’s the kind of video I’m going to share with all your teachers (and then significant others) — because this is the kind of stuff that’s just you.

It’s just you.

And we love all of it.
