MADAME VP or SHE LOOKS LIKE ME

It’s harder to envision yourself doing amazing things if you don’t see people like yourself doing those things.

To people 12 and under, a majority of their life has seen a person of color in the White House.

To people 5 and under, well, they’ll form their first long term memories of a woman of color as VP.

That’s £#%£ing amazing.

My kids are growing up in a time when someone who looks like them being in the White House isn’t exceptional, it’s expected.

#iamgrateful and #iamthankful for it. And for Piccolina, still my favorite kids clothing brand.

Period.

Can’t wait for you all to make a Daddy series so I can wear the same shirts as our kids.

For now, this pic’ll do.

MY DAUGHTER CAN SEE or DRAWING STRAIGHT LINES

I asked Anaiya who our VP looked like.

She answered with

“Like me and Sonam.”

My daughter can draw a straight line between her (and one of her bffs) and the Vice Presidency.
