This > http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4624424/ . It’s been a while since I’ve appreciated the humor in a movie to this extent. It’s clever. It’s unexpected. Some of it is sheer genius (a fight scene with a silent twist, some of the banter). I loved it. I’m about to say that this is the funniest animated film (kid friendly animated film, because otherwise, South Park still wins period) I’ve seen. I attribute the low rating to a failure to balance what an adult might appreciate with what a kid can appreciate at the same time (Disney, Pixar, they always nail layers that appease everyone simultaneously). I’m not sure if my kids would have loved this one. But … I say go for it. So let’s do this and dole out some appreciation for the WB’s foil to Disney’s gold standard.
#iamgrateful and #iamthankful for a flick that kept me distracted and entertained even in 5-10 minute spurts (before going to bed, for example). And a pic that stirred some emotions and forced me to text someone who I’m now forcing to watch it this weekend (thanks Kelli O’Donnell)!
